Dev Diwali (also called Dev Deepawali) is one of the grandest festivals celebrated in Varanasi, taking place on the full moon night of Kartik Purnima, 15 days after Diwali. It’s the only night when all 80+ ghats of the Ganga are illuminated with diyas (oil lamps), creating a mesmerizing spectacle best experienced from the river itself.
